2 Minutes of Hope April 26, 2021
"Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." - Romans 5:5
Have you ever wondered how our hope does not disappoint? The Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 5:3-5, “Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.” Reading this passage of scripture, it becomes very clear that a hope that does not disappoint is a hope that has been built on a character that has persevered. It’s a hope that says “My God is bigger than my problems.” It’s character that praises Him through every storm. It’s faith in the face of adversity. It’s trust that every trial is producing in you a hope that will never disappoint because it’s a hope in a God whose word never returns to Him void. It's what the Bible calls, “The Triumph of Faith” and it’s our victory as believers in Jesus Christ.
It’s not a hope that this world can give because it’s not a hope that this world has. It’s a hope that can only be found in Him. The world throws us trials to try and steal our hope, but our it’s our faith in God that seals our hope.
In the end, it comes down to a choice. The world says abandon hope, but God’s word says abandon hopelessness. You get to choose. I pray you choose hope.
Let's Pray...
Thank you, O Lord, for another day of life. Thank you for thinking of me and having plans for me. Strengthen us this day, O Lord, with your abounding love and grace. Let us fix our eyes on you, the Author and Finisher of our faith as we choose today to put our hope in you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
